Terms of Use

StartDutch (startdutch.app) is a Dutch vocabulary learning application operated by Pinuno, a software and education products company based in the Netherlands. StartDutch helps language learners prepare for the Dutch integration (inburgering) exam and everyday conversation through vocabulary practice and dictation exercises.

StartDutch is an independent product and is not affiliated with the Dutch government, the Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs (DUO), or any official inburgering examination body.

Feature availability may change over time. We will notify active subscribers of any reduction in Premium features.

• All prices include applicable VAT.
• Payments are processed by PayPal. No card details are stored by StartDutch.
• Subscriptions are currently manual renewal — you will not be charged automatically at expiry.
• Premium access is activated immediately after PayPal confirms payment.

Because subscriptions are currently manual-renewal (not automatic), there is no ongoing subscription to "cancel" — your access simply expires at the end of the paid period.

Refund policy: We do not offer refunds as a matter of course. However, if you experience a technical problem that prevented you from using the service, please contact us within 14 days of your payment at support@startdutch.app and we will review your case fairly.

Under EU consumer law, you may have a 14-day withdrawal right for digital services. However, this right is waived when you start using the Premium service immediately after purchase. By proceeding with payment you confirm that you consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that this waives your right of withdrawal.

All content on StartDutch — including the application code, vocabulary data, example sentences, design, and branding — is owned by or licensed to Pinuno. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

You are granted a personal, non-transferable licence to use StartDutch for your own language learning. This licence ends when your account is deleted or suspended.

StartDutch contains over 3,000 Dutch vocabulary words with translations, pronunciations, and example sentences designed to support preparation for A1–B1 level Dutch language exams.

While we take care to ensure accuracy, language is living and evolving. Translations and examples are provided for learning purposes and may not cover every nuance or regional variation. We make no guarantee that vocabulary covered in StartDutch will appear in any specific examination.

Your privacy matters to us. Our Privacy Policy explains in full what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under GDPR. By using StartDutch you confirm that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

StartDutch is provided "as is". While we work hard to keep it available and accurate, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or that every translation is perfect.

To the extent permitted by Dutch law, Pinuno is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service, including — but not limited to — examination outcomes, loss of learning data due to technical failure, or downtime. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 3 months preceding any claim.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. For significant changes we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of StartDutch after changes are notified constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
